During the process of completing our PI activities our school began the process of investigating the tools available for a 1-1 implementation at the hs.
During our studies the tech committee decided to choose the iPad as our tool of choice for 1-1 implementation.
The committee recommended to the board in January 2011 that our school become 1-1 with the iPad for all 6--12 graders. The board was agreeable to our plan but unfortunately finances dictated that we scale the project back to 9--12 grade and all teaching staff receiving iPads for the 2011-2012.
Hence the focus for our school and Project Integrate changed during the year.
Because of scheduling conflicts our planned in-services for the spring 2011 did not focus on 21st century skills, which would of helped with our Action Research question. Instead we focused our in-services on the new plan of becoming a 1-1 school, which of course did not specifically help us answer our action research question.
As our school journeys down the path of becoming a 1-1 HS the 21st century tools we learned about in our WebCT class will certainly give us ammunition and resources that can aide teachers in the classroom.
Because of our new focus, I have also been working on compiling iPad/iPod resources for our teaching staff via the following wiki: iPad Project Learn
